School of Artisan Food

Branding | Class Project | 12 Weeks | Ai Ps Xd id

Students were asked to choose an institution to rebrand and create an in-depth corporate identity and brand guideline for over a 12 week time period. I chose to rebrand The School of Artisan Food, an award winning, non-profit culinary institution, located in North Nottinghamshire, England. This served as a great opportunity to explore the world of corporate identity design.

The Goals

Design a brand identity that’ll position the school as reputable, unique, experts in the industry.

I want to reflecting the school’s state of the art facilities & expert instructors and its unique niche as an Artisan food production educator.

Develop a welcoming and exciting brand identity that’ll reignite people’s interest in artisan food and reflect its richness.

I’d like to position the school as an inspiring place for students to learn about Artisan food.

Develop a corporate branding that’ll work seamlessly across both physical and digital mediums.

I’d like to position the school as a front-runner both digitally and physically. It should make a strong impression through both mediums.

The Process

STRATEGY & RESEARCH

I start my process with an in-depth research into the school covering a SWOT analysis, target market analysis and its desired position.

CREATIVE DIRECTION

Based on the strategy and research phase I put together a creative direction mood board and overview to guide the branding.

INITIAL DESIGNS

Based on the creative direction, I created a variety of potential logo designs and chose a final direction based on in-class revisions.

REFINE, ITERATE & FINALIZE

After choosing a logo direction, I put together the brand guidelines and continued to refine the various designs based on in-class critiques.
